Nancy L. Thompson Law Office PC of Des Moines, Iowa is a general practice firm including but not limited to bankruptcy law and debtor/creditor law. It provides assistance to people throughout Iowa with a variety of debt and credit related problems. It is a debt relief agency under federal law and assists people in filing for bankruptcy relief under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

We have nearly 30 years of experience helping clients with bankruptcy and other credit problems. Nancy Thompson was Chair of the Iowa State Bar Association Commercial and Bankruptcy Section from 2006 to 2008 and received an award from the Iowa State Bar Association in 2007 for Outstanding Section Chair for Legislative Advocacy after she led efforts to update and improve Iowa's personal property exemptions for debtors. Nancy Thompson is also an attorney with Iowa Legal Aid, handling all of their bankruptcies in the Southern District of Iowa. Nancy is a member of both the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the National Association of Consumer Advocates. Thompson Law Office e is located in downtown Des Moines with nearby parking on Court Avenue or in the parking ramp at 3rd and Court. The office is accessible through Des Moines' skywalk system.
We require only an initial retainer fee to get started on preparing the bankruptcy paperwork and accepting calls from creditors. The remaining fee can be paid in installments but must be paid in full prior to the bankruptcy being filed. Methods of payment include: cashier's check, cash or money orders. We do NOT accept personal checks.
